How Lists Help You Plan Your Hair Salon Equipment Needs

A hair salon has so much equipment that it needs to have in stock that it is no wonder that many first time salon owners start to feel overwhelmed at the thought of it. Not only do they want to make sure that they have the best quality of equipment but they also want to be sure that they can afford everything they need! From the salon chairs to the reception desk to the scissors to the hair dryers and way, way beyond, the list just keeps going and adding up. Before you start to panic, take a deep breath and do yourself a favor: Actually make a list.

Divide your list into sections:

  • Furniture
  • Tools
  • Decor

From there you can do sub-lists. Within the furniture category, divide it into work stations, reception area, shampoo area, etc. With tools, make a list of the standard items you need and how many. With decor, you can divide that into sections of your salon as well. A salon’s worth is in the details and you want to be sure that your details are all covered. Having a list and checking it twice, a la Santa Claus, will bring your business success.
